We have a chance to achieve a significant victory this Fall in Virginia. There are four House seats currently held by Republicans where the Democrats have a chance to win on November 4.

Facing today's economic crisis, we need new leaders who will fight for the people of Virginia to secure our future and economic fairness. Two years ago, you helped step up for me in the final weeks to carry us to victory. Today, I'm asking you to do the same for Gerry Connolly, Judy Feder, Glenn Nye, and Tom Perriello before tonight's September 30th fundraising deadline.

In Virginia's 11th Congressional District, Democrat Gerry Connolly is in a close race in a district for a seat currently held by a Republican. Gerry Connolly is Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. Glenn Nye, running in Virginia's 2nd Congressional District, is a former Foreign Service officer who volunteered to serve in conflict zones in Afghanistan, Kosovo and Iraq. He received the State Department's Superior Honor Award for leading a rescue of 26 American citizens and negotiating the release of an American hostage. Glenn and I share the belief that the Bush Administration has led our country into a misguided war in Iraq while neglecting priorities at home, and that we must change the direction of our nation.

Glenn's opponent has already started to launch false personal attacks against Glenn. We can't let the right-wing smear Glenn's record.

Tom Perriello, running in Virginia's 5th Congressional District, has spent his entire adult life fighting for human rights. Tom worked to end atrocities in Liberia and Sierra Leone, which had suffered long civil wars fueled by blood diamonds. Tom also helped found FaithfulAmerica.org and Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, which bring together faith communities to fight for health care, supporting a higher minimum wage, environmental stewardship, and responsible solutions in Iraq.
